    N-hydrocarbyloxy compounds of the formula ##STR1## where E.sub.1, E.sub.2, E.sub.3 and E.sub.4 are independently an organic radical so that the carbon atoms to which they are attached are each a quaternary carbon, R is a hydrocarbon radical and T is a divalent radical are prepared directly by the reaction of the corresponding amine or oxyl compound in a hydrocarbon organic solvent with a hydroperoxide in the presence of a metal carbonyl, metal oxide or metal alkoxide catalyst in high yield and purity. These compounds are useful as light stabilizers in diverse substrate systems.

The compounds are therefore useful in the treatment of IKK mediated diseases including autoimmune diseases inflammatory diseases and cancer. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions comprising these compounds and processes for preparing these compounds.

    A coating composition for the preparation of synthetic resin shaped articles excellent in abrasion resistance and weatherability is described. This composition comprises (a) a polyfunctional monomer mixture comprising (i) 25-75 wt.% of at least one polyfunctional monomer of the formula (I): wherein at least three of X11. X12. X13, X22. X23... Xn2. Xn3 and X14 are CH2=CH·COO- and the remaining groups are -OH, and n is an integer of 1-5, (ii) 25-75 wt.% of at least one polyfunctional monomer of the formula (II): wherein at least three of the Rs are CH2=CH COO- and each of the remaining is H or -OH, n1. n2. n3. n4, m1. m2. m, and m4 are integers of 0. 1 or 2, and X is an integer of 1 to 10 and (iii) 0 to 50 wt.% of a monomer containing one acryloyloxy group and having a boiling point of at least 150 C at normal pressure and a viscosity of not higher than 20 cps/20°C, and (b) 0.01-6.0 wt. parts, based on 100 wt. parts of the polyfunctional monomer mixture, of at least one photosensitizer. The coating composition is coated on a synthetic resin shaped article and then, irradiated with ultraviolet rays in air to form a crosslinked coating film having a thickness of 1-30 microns.

    A description is given of a stabilizer composition comprising A) at least one nitrogen compound having a molecular weight of at least 150, selected from a secondary amine in which all substituents positioned &agr; to the amine nitrogen atom are different than hydrogen, or, derived from the secondary amine, a tertiary amine, hydroxylamine, alkoxyamine or amide; and B) at least one iron compound. The stabilizer composition optionally comprises nitroxyl radicals. It is suitable for stabilizing nonliving organic material, especially polyolefins or homopolymers or copolymers of styrene, against the effects of light, heat or oxygen.
