Titanium-dioxide surfaces have been glycosylated with the benzyl-, 4-fluorobenzyl-, and acetyl-protected diazirines 1–3. The modified TiO2 surfaces were characterized by contact-angle measurement, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPES), and time-of-flight secondary-ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS).
