Abstract The investigation of four speciesfrom the subtribe Mutisiinae afforded eight new monoterpenes, seven 5-methylcoumarins, two closely related 5-methylchromones, two coumarane derivatives, a p-hydroxy acetophenone derivative and a new C14-acetylene. The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and a few chemical transformations. The chemotaxonomy of the Mutisiinae is discussed.
