  Furan chemistry was utilized for the synthesis of several novel tyramine derivatives. Thus 2H-pyran-3(6H)-ones were used as keystone intermediates for the preparation of novel α,β-disubstituted tyramine derivatives. Furthermore by the same approach tyramine was derivatized with a molecule of GABA.
