    Synthesis and Properties of Poly(10-Octylphenothiazine-CO-2′,3′,6′,7′-Tertrakis-Octyloxy-9-Spirobifluorene) for OLEDs

    Many attempts have been focused on polymer light-emitting diodes ( PLEDs) for large area display application. We report synthesis and properties of new phenothiazyl polymer derivatives, Poly(10-octyl-10H-phenothiazine-3,7-diyl) ( POP), Poly( 20,30,60,70-tertrakis-octyloxy-9-spirobifluorene-2,7-diyl) ( PTOSF), and their random copolymers, Poly( 10-octylphenothiazine-co-20,30,60,70- tertrakis-octyloxy-9-spirobifluorene) ( POTOSF), which were polymerized by Yamamoto reaction. The obtained compound was identified by H-1- NMR, UV- Visible spectroscopy and GPC data. Weight average molecular number ( Mn) of the polymers ranged from 17,000 to 300,000 g= mol with polydispersity indices of 1.6 similar to 6.5. Maximum UV-Visible absorption of the polymers was distributed from 285 to 403 nm. PL emission of POP, PTOSF and POTOSF copolymer were found to be 480, 434 and 484 nm, respectively. EL emission peak of double- layer EL device of POTOSF was at 494nm ( bluish green).

    on the Suzuki‐Scholl reactions was successfully exploited to yield new poly(hetero)aromatic hydrocarbons containing carbazole, fluorene or fluorenone moieties. These butterfly‐like mesogens exhibit columnar mesophases, form fibrous gels in various solvents, emit blue to orange light in films and solutions and show outstanding photocurrent behavior with charge carrier mobility in the ∼0.03 cm2 V−1 s−1

    本发明涉及基于纳米石墨烯三苯并苉盘状液晶化合物和2,6‑双(3',4,4',5‑四(烷氧基)‑[1,1'‑联苯]‑2‑基)萘的取代。其特征在于具有通式(Ⅰ)、(Ⅱ)所示的结构。其中R为C6~C16的烷基链,上述通式(Ⅰ)化合物在较宽的温度范围内且在室温下自组装成六方柱状液晶中间相。本发明还提供了纳米石墨烯三苯并苉盘状液晶化合物和2,6‑双(3',4,4',5‑四(烷氧基)‑[1,1'‑联苯]‑2‑基)萘取代的制备方法。通式(Ⅰ)中化合物可通过通式(Ⅱ)中化合物在FeCl3分子内氧化关环获得。

  • Poly(spirobifluorene)s Containing Nonconjugated Diphenylsulfone Moiety: Toward Blue Emission Through a Weak Charge Transfer Effect

    Instead of conjugated dibenzothiophene-S,S-dioxide (DBTSO), we have introduced nonconjugated diphenylsulfone (DPSO) as the electron-deficient unit into the main chain of poly(spirobifluorene)s (PSFs). Because of the weaker electron affinity of DPSO relative to DBTSO, the charge transfer from the pendant 2,3,6,7-tetraoctyloxyfluorene to the main chain can be effectively prevented. Consequently, the resultant polymers containing DPSO moiety show pure blue emissions, which is different from DBTSO-based PSFs that exhibit undesired green emissions. With a single-layer device configuration, a peak luminous efficiency of 2.90 cd/A and a maximum luminescence of 14130 cd/m(2) have been realized for the polymer PSFDPSO03. The corresponding CIE coordinates are (0.17, 0.18), nearly independent of the applied current density from 2 to 592 mA/cm(2). These results indicate that tuning the electron affinity of the incorporated electron-deficient units is a very promising strategy to control the charge transfer strength for the development of blue-emitting PSFs with high efficiency and stability.
