A convenient and efficient synthesis of substituted dihydrofurans is developed via ring-enlargement of 1-dimethylaminopropenoyl-1-carbamoyl/benzoyl cyclopropanes catalyzed by ammonium acetate in acetic acid with high regio- and stereoselectivity.
