  Peripheral neuropathies include disorders in structure and function of peripheral motor and sensory neurons, and can involve the entire neuron as well as part of it. Exogenous administration of CCK-8 and analogues thereof has been shown to induce the cellular production of neurotrophic factors, especially NGF, which can treat neuropathic states in the peripheral nervous system.
