The t-butyldimethylsilyl derivatives of 1,2-diakyl, 1-alk-1'-enyl-2-acyl, 1-alkyl-2-acyl and 1,2-diacyl glycerols were analysed with a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer system. The characteristic fragment ions were as follows. The molecular weight determining ion was [M-57]+, which was formed by cleavage of the t-butyl radical from the molecular ion.
