Coumarin-based receptor R1 recognizes Ni2+ at sub-micromolar levels in aqueous ethanolic medium (60:40) at physiological pH and exhibited INH logic function at pH values below 7. Additionally, this system showed reconfiguration to AND as well as TRANSFER logic functions in aqueous and dry dimethyl sulfoxide, respectively.
