Straightforward linking of natural α-amino acids in the presence of thiolphosphonate and trichlorosilane was established to construct various thioamide-containing peptides. The carbonyl group is replaced with a thiono group by sequential activation, and the chirality of the aminoacid component is maintained in the products.
