  The complementary components AP(2) and AU(2), resulting respectively from the linking of diacylaminopyridine and uracil derivatives to an anthracenic core, have been designed in order to self-assemble, through hydrogen bonding, into polymeric supramolecular rigid rods (AP(2), AU(2))(n).
