Abstract Novel acylatedglycerolglucosides, regaloside A and B, both bitter to the taste, have been isolated from the fresh bulbs of Liliumregale. Their structures have been shown by the spectral and chemical evidence to be (2S)-1-O-p-coumaroyl-3-O-β- d -glucopyranosylglycerol and (2S)-1-O-p-coumaroyl-2-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl-3-O-acetylglycerol, respectively.
