Simple tin derivatives, Cp*2SnCl2 (1) and Ph2SnCl2 (2), catalyze the hydrophosphination of alkene substrates with diphenylphosphine. Palladium-catalyzed β-arylation of modified vinyl ethers with aryl triflates.

The reaction between modified vinyl ethers and aryl triflates in the presence of palladium acetate is described. High β-regioselectivity and high chemical yields are obtained, provided that the aryl triflates are not ortho- or pera-substituted with electron-donating groups.
