Formation of non-racemic tricyclic compounds by intramolecular 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of nitrones

3-Oxanitrones 10 and 3-azanitrones 11 were prepared starting from (S)-ethyl lactate 5 and (S)-N-benzyl alaninol 8, respectively. Both nitrones underwent spontaneously an intramolecular cycloaddition affording the tricyclic compounds 12 and 13. The diastereomeric forms of 12 and of 13 were separated by column chromatography and identified by NMR spectroscopy.
分别从(S)-乳酸乙酯5和(S)-N-苄基丙氨醇8开始制备3-氧杂环丁烷10和3-氮杂环丁烷11。两种硝酮均自发地进行分子内环加成反应,得到三环化合物12和13。通过柱色谱分离12和13的非对映异构形式,并通过NMR光谱法鉴定。
