A general method for intermolecular allylic C–H alkylation of terminal olefins with tertiary nucleophiles has been accomplished employing palladium(II)/bis(sulfoxide) catalysis. Allylic C–H alkylation furnishes products in good yields (avg. 64%) with excellent regio- and stereoselectivity (>20:1 linear:branched, >20:1 E:Z). For the first time, the olefin scope encompasses unactivated aliphatic olefins

Compounds of a certain formula (I), in which R1, R2, R3 and R4 have the meanings indicated in the description, are effective Eg5-inhibiting compounds with anti-proliferative and/or apoptosis inducing activity.
A diastereo- and enantioselective propargylic substitution reaction between propargylic carbonates and α-substituted nitroacetates catalyzed by a Cu-pybox complex is described. This method allows the preparation of a series of non-proteinogenic quaternary α-aminoacid precursors featuring two contiguous stereogenic centers and a terminal alkyne moiety in high yields with good to excellent diastereo-

conjugate addition of α‐alkyl substituted α‐nitroacetates to phenyl vinyl selenone was developed. The resulting enantio‐enriched α,α‐dialkyl substituted α‐nitroacetates were subsequently converted to various cyclic and acyclic quaternary α‐amino acids, taking advantage of the rich functionalities of the resulting Michael adducts. Novel protocols allowing chemoselective reduction of phenyl selenone to
A Catalyst-Free, One-Pot Three-Component Aminomethylation of α-Substituted Nitroacetates: Theoretical and Experimental Studies into the Rate-Accelerating Effects of the Solvent Methanol
3, 2, 1 go! An unprecedented one‐pot, catalyst‐free, three‐component aminomethylation of α‐substituted nitroacetates, formalin, and amines has been reported, thereby enabling the highly efficient synthesis of α,β‐diamino acid precursors with great structural diversity.
