Hydrazidomycins A–C and elaiomycins B–C represent a family of unusual, naturally occurring enehydrazides produced by Streptomyces sp. A general synthetic approach to access these densely functionalized hydrazine derivatives is exemplified by the first total synthesis of hydrazidomycin A.
