The stereoisomeric 2H-octafluorocyclopentyl methyl ethers have been prepared by the lithium aluminum hydride reduction of the stereoisometric 2-chloro-octafluorocyctopentyl methyl ethers obtained from the cobaltic fluoride fluorination of 2-chlorohexafluorocyctopentyl methyl ether.
