Octahedral titanium and zirconium complexes based on salicyloxazoline ligands with sterically demanding ortho-substituents provide a new family of extremely active ethene polymerization catalysts [up to 108 g PE (mol bar h)−1] which are in some cases “single site”.

A series of chiral oxazoline-titanium complexes were found to be efficient catalysts for the enantioselective oxidation of sulfides. The reactivity and enantioselectivity were strongly influenced by the structure of the oxazolines. When (4S,5S)-4,5-dihydro-4,5-diphenyl-2-(2′-hydroxy-3′-tert-butylphenyl) oxazoline was used as ligand, the sulfoxide was obtained in 96%e.e.

electrooxidative cobalt-catalyzed enantioselective C−H/N−H annulation with olefins (up to 99 % ee) using tBu-Salox as chiral ligand. The cooperative effect between tBu-Salox and 3,4,5-trichloropyridine enabled the highly enantio- and regioselective C−H annulation with the more challenging α-olefins (up to 96 % ee and 97 : 3 rr). Mechanistic studies provided insights into the mechanism of this reaction
