The solubilization and aqueousphasereforming of lignin, including kraft, soda, and alcell lignin along with sugarcane bagasse, at low temperatures (T≤498 K) and pressures (P≤29 bar) is reported for the first time for the production of aromaticchemicals and hydrogen. Analysis of lignin model compounds and the distribution of products obtained during the ligninaqueousphasereforming revealed that
with respect to that of the native enzyme. These catalysts were used in the selectivesynthesis of catechols by oxidation of meta- and para-substituted phenols in an organicsolvent (CH2Cl2) as the reaction medium. It is worth noting that immobilizedtyrosinase was able to catalyze the oxidation of very hindered phenol derivatives that are slightly reactive with the native enzyme. The increased reactivity
