  Lipase-catalysed resolution of 3-(aryloxy)-1,2-propanediol derivatives — Towards an improved active site model of Pseudomonas cepacia lipase (amano PS)

  摘要：

  A variety of 3-(aryloxy)-1,2-propanediol derivatives with different substituents on the aromatic ring or at the primary hydroxy group were used as substrates in a kinetic resolution by transesterification with vinyl acetate catalysed by lipase from Pseudomonas cepacia (Amano PS). Derivatives with substituents in the para-position of the aromatic ring were accepted as substrates and resolved with high enantioselectivity. The corresponding derivatives with substituents in the ortho-position were much worse substrates for lipase PS or even non-substrates if the substituent was sufficiently space-filling as found for the tert-butyl, phenyl, benzyl or benzoyl residue. Otherwise, if the primary hydroxy group was substituted by unbranched long-chain acyl residues very good substrates were resulting. In contrast, derivatives with sterically crowded residues at the primary hydroxy group such as the pivaloyl, tert-butyldimethylsilyl, methanesulfonyl, para-toluenesulfonyl or trityl groups were nonsubstrates for lipase PS.

  There are described novel compounds of the formula I defined herein ##STR1## wherein R is a phenyl group which is unsubstituted or mono- to tetra-substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, halogen, nitro, cyano, trifluoromethyl, phenyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkoxy, or it is 3,4-methylenedioxy-phenyl, including the acid addition salts thereof with organic and inorganic acids as well as metal complexes thereof, all having tolerance to cultivated plants and possessing valuable microbicidal properties. They can be used for combating phytopathogenic microorganisms, particularly phytopathogenic fungi. The compounds of the formula I have for practical purposes a very favorable curative, systemic and preventive action for the protection of cultivated plants, without these being impaired as a result of undesirable side-effects. They can be used in practice on their own or in the form of microbicidal compositions.

  Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf die Landwirtschaft, insbesondere auf Verfahren zur Sterilisation der Staubbeutel von Pflanzen. Periode der Organogenese vor. Als Sterilisationsmittel verwendet man erfindungsgemäß Derivate von aliphatischen Alkoholen der allgemeinen Formel worin R, für H, Alkoxy. Alkylhalogenid, Methylbromid, R2 für H. Hydroxyl, R3 für H. Cl. C1CH2, C2H5, NO2 stehen, worin Z für 0 oder S steht. R4 H. CH3 bedeutet, worin X H für F, Cl, OH, NH2, NO2 steht. Y für H. -C-SK, steht. oder R2 - Y eine einfache Bindung darstellt, oder ihre Tiioanaloga oder ,nre Gemisene. Die Erfindung wird in der Selektion und im Samebau zur Verwendung kommen.

  A number of 3-aryloxypropanedioles were obtained by treating glycidol with phenols. The latter with thionyl chloride afforded 4-aryloxymethyl-1,3,2-dioxathiolane 2-oxides. These compounds were also obtained from 4-chloromethyl-1,3,2-dioxathiolane 2-oxides by substitution aryloxy group for chlorine. The cyclic sulfides synthesized are universal intermediates in the synthesis of chiral aryloxypropanolamines among which are known beta-adrenoblockaders, cardiovascular drugs. From (S)-glycidol, (S)-alprenolol, (S)-propanolol, and (S)-thymolol were synthesized.
