A general and practical atom transfer radical addition (ATRA) of simple nitriles, ketones, and esters to alkynes was developed. It can allow an efficient access to a wide range of β,γ-unsaturated nitriles, ketones, and esters. The unique chemoselectivity in this system is also discussed.
Palladium-catalyzed diastereo-differentiative tandem connection of cis-alkenyl iodide, cyclic fragment, and terminal acetylene was executed. The discrimination of the diastereotopic face and olefinic carbons of norbornene was achieved with accompanying isomerization of the cis-geometry of the olefin to trans in good yields.

An intermolecular hydrogen bond-promoted atom-transfer radicaladdition of simple alcohols to aliphatic alkynes is demonstrated here. Through this strategy, a variety of allyl alcohols can be synthesized in high selectivity and yields. Furthermore, this work reveals the relationship between selectivity and the substrate.

propargylic amines. The reaction utilizes a PtCl2/XantPhos catalyst system to deliver hydrosilanes across the alkyne to afford multifunctional allylic amines in high yields. The reaction is tolerant to a wide variety of functional groups and provides high value intermediates with two distinct functional handles. The synthetic applicability of the reaction has been shown through the synthesis of diverse ambiphilic
