  mixture of α-hydroxydecyl hydroperoxide [or bis(α-hydroxyalkyl) peroxides] and epoxides in the presence of tungstic anhydride and catalytic amounts ofchlorosulphonic acid gave the corresponding 1,2,4-trioxans in 7–63% yield.
