    Embodiments of the invention include linking agents including photo groups and vinyl groups and coatings and devices that incorporate such linking agents, along with related methods.     Copper-containing compositions can be provided in articles on a suitable substrate. Such compositions can include either reducible copper ions or copper nanoparticles complexed with a water-soluble reactive polymer or a water-insoluble crosslinked polymer derived from the water-soluble reactive polymer. The reactive polymer can be crosslinked using suitable irradiation to provide copper-containing water-insoluble complexes. The various articles and electrically -conductive materials can be assembled in electronic devices. The reactive polymer has greater than 1 mol % of recurring units comprising sulfonic acid or sulfonate groups, at least 5 mol % of recurring units comprising a pendant group capable of crosslinking via [2+2] photocycloaddition, and optionally at least 1 mol % of recurring units comprising a pendant amide, amine, hydroxy 1, lactam, phosphonic acid, or carboxylic acid group.

    Provided is an aqueous dispersion of colored particles suitable for colorants for writing instrument inks, inkjet inks, painting materials, aqueous coatings, and the like. The aqueous dispersion of colored particles includes a polymer having at least a unit of a monomer derived from a dye having a polymerizable unsaturated group.     A method can be used to provide electrically-conductive articles with electrolessly plated metal, or articles having antimicrobial properties for marine environments. The method includes disposing a silver-containing composition onto one or more supporting sides of a substrate such as continuous polymeric web. The silver-containing composition comprises a water-soluble complex of a reactive polymer with reducible silver ions, the reactive polymer comprising: (a) greater than 1 mol % of recurring units comprising sulfonic acid or sulfonate groups, (b) at least 5 mol % of recurring units comprising a pendant group capable of crosslinking via [2+2] photocycloaddition, and optionally (c) at least 1 mol % of recurring units comprising a pendant amide, hydroxyl, lactam, phosphonic acid, or carboxylic acid group. The reducible silver ions can be suitably reduced and the reactive polymer can be photoexposed to provide crosslinking in patternwise or uniform fashion.
