    A new reaction-based probe for the colorimetric signaling of hydrogen sulfide was developed. Reduction of the nitro group of a nitrobenzoxadiazole moiety to an amino group resulted in pronounced chromogenic signaling in the form of a yellow to pink color change.     A number of new tetrahydroisoindole derivatives fused with the furazan ring were synthesized based on the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of N-methylazomethine ylide with substituted 4-nitrobenzofurazans. Substituents in the benzene ring were found to affect the cycloaddition process.

    The identification of a novel hit compound inhibitor of the protein-protein interaction between the influenza RNA-polymerase PA and PB1 subunits has been accomplished by means of high-throughput screening. A small family of structurally related molecules has been synthesized and biologically evaluated with most of the compounds showing micromolar potency of inhibition against viral replication.
