The synthesis of the optical isomers of 2-ethylidene-1,5-dimethyl-3,3-diphenylpyrrolidine is reported. The 1H-nmr analysis suggested that the free bases exist predominantly in an enamine form and the corresponding perchlorate salts in an iminium form.
