the complexes [Cu(pdpa)(N 3 )]ClO 4 ( 1 ), [Cu(Me 3 tren)(N 3 )]ClO 4 ( 2 ) and [Cu(pmedien)(C 2 N 3 ) 2 ] ( 3 ) reveals their monomeric nature. The structures of the complexes 1 and 2 derived from the blocking tripod tetraamines pdpa and Me 3 tren consist of isolated [Cu(L)(N 3 )] + cations and Cl O 4 − counter ions.
