Double 1,4-addition of (thio)salicylamides/thiosalicylic acids with propiolate derivatives: a direct, general synthesis of diverse heterocyclic scaffolds
ring-closure procedure to prepare a range of diverse heterocycles has been developed. In this transformation, a variety of substituted (thio)salicylamides and thiosalicylicacids occured double 1, 4-additions reaction with propiolate derivatives in the presence of inorganic base (K3PO4), as a result, benzothiazinones, benzoxazinones and benzoxathiinones were prepared in good to excellent yields respectively
Fused pyridazino[4,5-b][1,4]oxazepine-diones were easily obtained in moderate to excellent yields via Smiles rearrangement. The synthetic approach is supported by a one-pot couplingSmiles rearrangement-cyclization process. This process has potential applications in the synthesis of biologically and medicinally relevant compounds.
Salicylanilides were prepared in 70–95% yields in 4–8 min from phenyl salicylate or phenyl 4-methoxysalicylate and substituted anilines under microwave irradiation under solvent free conditions.

A new approach to the construction of tricyclic dibenzo[ b,f ][1,4]oxazepin-11(10 H )-one and pyrido[2,3- b ][1,4]benzoxazepin-10(11 H )-one systems based on N-substituted salicylamides and o -nitrochloro derivatives of benzene and pyridine has been developed.
