Octahydroepoxyisoindole analogues of norcantharidin were accessed through a Diels-Alder reaction of an amine-substituted furan with maleic anhydride and subsequent reduction of the bicyclo[2.2.1]hepteneolefin. Despite retention of the carboxylate and the ether bridgehead known to impart cytotoxic activity to norcantharidin, none of these analogues displayed notable cytotoxicity against the 11 cell
The present invention relates to novel arginase inhibitors of formula (I). These novel compounds are useful in the treatment of diseases that are associated with arginase activity, such as asthma, allergic rhinitis and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).

design and synthesis of eight novel carbazole-based acrylamide derivatives (M1-4) and 2-pyridone-based dyes (M5-8) for dye-sensitizedsolarcell (DSSC) purposes are discussed in this article. Due to superior delocalization of electrons over the π-conjugated molecules when a cyanoacrylamide moiety is incorporated in the chemical structure, M1-4 with an acrylamide moiety outperformed other dyes M5-8 in
