The annual worldwide production of UF6 is very large and this compound is not used. Consequently, it could be interesting to find some applications as organic reagent. UF6 could be considered as an oxidizer of various functions. However, it seems also present some possibilities as a fluorinating reagent in mild conditions.
The present disclosure relates to compounds of formula (I) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and compositions and uses thereof. The compounds are useful as inhibitors of the YAP:TEAD protein:protein interaction. Also included are pharmaceutical compositions comprising a compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and methods of using such compounds and salts in the treatment of various YAP:TEAD-mediated disorders, including cancer.

A useful conversion of alcohols to alkyl fluorides

A usefulconversion of alcohols to alkyl fluorides via their fluoroformates is introduced. The fluoroformates are obtained in nearly quantitative yield from the alcohols by treatment with COF2 (generated in situ from bis(trichloromethyl) carbonate) in ether with KF as an added acid scavenger. The neat fluoroformates are cleaved to the fluorides by heating at 120–125°C using hexabutylguanidinium fluoride
