The invention relates to iron(III) complex compounds and pharmaceutical compositions comprising them for the use as medicaments, in particular for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of iron deficiency symptoms and iron deficiency anemias.
An efficient, environmentally benign and unprecedented synthesis of various α-sulfenylated amides/esters has been developed under oxygen atmosphere. The reaction shows good functional group tolerance and excellent chemo/regioselectivity. All the desired products were obtained in moderate to excellent yields, even on the gram scale. A highly efficient Cu–Mn‐catalyzed process for the aminolysis of esters was developed. Also, the catalyst promoted the self‐ and cross‐dehydrogenativecoupling of anilines to generate symmetrical and unsymmetrical azobenzenes, respectively. The reactions were performed under neutral conditions with an inexpensive catalyst, gave high yields, and offered wide functional group tolerance.
A novel Sc(OTf)3-catalyzed Tiffeneau–Demjanov ring expansion of six-membered cyclic ketones has been developed. The resulting seven-membered cyclic β-keto carboxamides were found to be versatile precursors to rare bicyclic pyrazoles obtained in modest to good yields via condensation with aryl hydrazines in the presence of Lawesson’s reagent.
