With a strategy by usingdiaryliodoniumsalts as the precursors of benzynes, direct N-arylation of tertiary amines with diaryliodoniumsalts was reported. Thus, the desired aromatic tertiary amines with a wide range of substituents were synthesized in moderate to excellent yields of 55–91%.

The first general palladium-catalyzed amination of aryl phosphates is described. The combination of MorDalPhos with [Pd(π-cinnamyl)Cl]2 enables the amination of electron-rich, electron-neutral, and electron-poor aryl phosphates with a board range of aromatic, aliphatic, and heterocyclic amines. Two new [Ni(allyl)Cl(NHC)] complexes with the bulky yet flexible N-heterocycliccarbene (NHC) ligands IPr* N,N'-bis[2,6-bis(diphenylmethyl)-4-methylphenyl]imidazole-2-ylidene} and IPr*OMe N,N'-bis[2,6-bis(diphenylmethyl)-4-methoxyphenyl]imidazol-2-ylidene} are reported.
