We have demonstrated the use of CeCl3· 7H2O as highlyefficient catalyst for one-potMannichreaction to afford β-amino carbonyl compounds in good to excellent yield within shorter period of reaction time. The process is mild, efficient, environmentally benign with the use of little amount of catalyst.

Bis[(L)prolinato-N,O]Zn in acetic acid-water: a novel catalytic system for the synthesis of β-amino carbonyls via Mannich reaction at room temperature
Zn[(L)proline]2 was used as an efficient catalyst for the one‐pot multicomponent reactions (MCR) of different aromatic amines, aromatic aldehyde and ketones in aqueous media. This method provides a novel and improved method for obtaining stereoselective β‐amino carbonylcompounds in terms of good yield. Little catalyst loading, recyclability, easy accessibility of the catalyst and aqueous media are
