    Lysophosphatidylserine (LysoPS) is an endogenous lipid mediator generated by hydrolysis of membrane phospholipid phosphatidylserine. Recent ligand screening of orphan G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) identified two LysoPS specific human GPCRs, namely, P2Y10 (LPS2) and GPR174 (LPS3), which, together with previously reported GPR34 (LPS1), comprise a LysoPS receptor family. Herein, we examined the structure-attivity relationships of a series of synthetic LysoPS analogues toward these recently deorphanized LysoPS,receptors, based on the idea that LysoPS can be regarded as consisting of distinct modules (fatty acid, glycerol, and L-Serine) connected by phosphodiester and ester linkages. Starting from the endogenous ligand (1-oleoyl-LysolPS, 1), we optimized the structure of each module and the ester linkage. Accordingly, we identified some structural requirements of each module for potency and for receptor subtype selectivity. Further assembly of individually structure-optimized modules yielded a series of potent and LysoPS receptor subtype-selective agonists, particularly for P2Y10 and GPR174.

Also provided are methods, kits and compositions for killing, controlling or suppressing a plant, comprising administering to surfaces of the plant a herbicide composition comprising a herbicidally effective limonene component and an emulsifying agent in an aqueous emulsion, wherein the composition includes a wetting agent and an optional oil. Also provided are methods, kits and compositions for killing, controlling or suppressing a plant, comprising administering to surfaces of the plant a herbicide composition comprising a herbicidally effective limonene component, an emulsifying agent and optionally an added oil component in an aqueous emulsion, wherein the composition has a pH greater than 5 and includes a wetting agent. All components of the compositions suitable for use in organic production contain components which are either natural products obtained by non-chemical means and/or are included on the Environmental Protection Agency's List of Inert Ingredients (List 4A and 4B).

    Disclosed is a pesticide method and composition utilizing a mixture of cedar and cinnamon oils as active pesticide agents in an inert carrier. The composition may also utilize a surfactant. Exemplary embodiments disclosed herein may include up to 8.5% by volume of cedar oil, up to 8.5% cinnamon oil, lemon juice, water, and other ingredients, as desired. Exemplary embodiments may be utilized to repel insects, rodents and other things from humans and animals as well as surfaces and areas that people and pets may be near. The exemplary embodiments may provide this repellant without the harmful effects of other chemicals and repellants.

    A method for increasing ozone concentration in a liquid can include: providing a gas having ozone; introducing the ozone-containing gas into a liquid, wherein the liquid and ozone combination has a temperature between about 0.8 and about 1.5 times the critical temperature of ozone; and increasing isothermally, the pressure of the ozone-containing gas above the liquid to about 0.3 to about 5 times the critical pressure of ozone so as to increase the ozone concentration in the liquid. The temperature is expressed in absolute units (Kelvin or Rankin). The method can be used for removing ozone from a gas or for purifying ozone. The liquid having a high ozone concentration can be used for ozonolysis of a substrate.
