A new series of marcocyclic ligands, 1,2,4,5,9,10,12,13‐octaaza[16]annulene derivatives were synthesized by using the condensation reaction of the correspondingly [2+2] 2‐heteroaryl‐substituted vinamidinium salts or phenyl vinamidinium salts and derivatives or halo‐substituted vinamidinum salt [1A‐10A] with thiocarbohydrazide in ethanolic medium under mild condition.
