Short alkyl chain Heck (type) reactions, especially methyl Heck reactions, are a difficult aspect of the alkyl Heck reaction. To provide a solution to this problem, iron-catalyzed methyl, ethyl and propyl Heck reactions were developed using readily available alkyl peroxides as alkyl sources. The reaction conditions were mild, clean, and easy to handle. No additive was needed, and no hazardous waste

An unprecedented in situ SO2-capture cascade triggered by alkylradicals has been documented herein. Mechanistic investigations suggest that, triggered by alkylradicals, SO2 was released in situ and subsequently fixed into polycyclic small molecules. A wide range of alkylsulfonyl substituted polycyclic compounds were easily prepared with high yields and good functional group tolerability.

An iron‐catalyzed oxyalkylation of alkynes with alkyl peroxides as the alkylating reagents has been investigated. Alkyl peroxides are readily available from aliphatic acids and serve simultaneously as the alkylating reagents and internal oxidants. Primary, secondary, and tertiary alkyl groups of aliphatic acids were readily incorporated into C−C triple bonds and diverse α‐alkylated ketones were synthesized

Provided are a metallic crosslinking coagent, preparation methods thereof, and a resin composition comprising the metallic crosslinking coagent. With the active-hydrogen containing organic phosphorus compound group and metallophilic acrylate group, the metallic crosslinking coagent provides both stabilizer and flame-retardant effects, enhances the crosslinking efficiency of the resin composition, and improves the compatibility between flame retardant and the polymer. Accordingly, the metallic crosslinking coagent is effective to improve the mechanical properties of the application material and to develop a safe and environmentally friendly flame retardant material.
