In the present work, we demonstrate a regioselective [2 + 2 + 2] cyclotrimerization of 1,3-diynes catalyzed by Ni0 to provide hexasubstituted benzenes (HSBs). HSBs have significant applications as functional materials and pharmaceuticals.
