    The invention relates to a method for producing ketones by reacting boric acid derivates with carbocylic acid anhydrides in the presence of a transition metal catalyst. The carboxylic acid anhydrides can either be used in isolated form or produced from carboxylic acids in a reaction mixture. This method enables the simple embodiment of a multitude of functionalised ketones in a single reaction step.
