A variety of (1,4-phenylene)bis(arylmethanesulfonylpyrroles and pyrazoles) were prepared by the cycloaddition of 1,3-dipolar reagents, tosylmethyl isocyanide and diazomethane to the Michael acceptor, 1,4-bis(E)-2-((arylmethanesulfonyl)vinyl)benzene.
