The present invention generally relates to compositions including six membered heterocyclic 1,4-diaza-2-one moieties covalently bonded by a hydrazine bond and processes for producing the same. The compositions of the present invention may be utilized as peptido- and/or proteomimetics, for example,' in connection with alpha-helical proteins, like Bcl-2 proteins.

The metal complex FeTSPPCl (5,10,15,20-tetrakis)-(4-sulfonato-phenyl)-porphyrin-iron(III) chloride is an active catalyst for carbenoid insertion in N-H bonds of aminoacid derivatives in aqueous media. A variety of diazoacetates and methyl diazophosphonate were used as carbenoid precursors. The new chiral aminodiphosphinite ligands are readily prepared from chiral amino acids. These compounds were characterized by 13C and 31P NMR spectroscopy and their behaviour as homogeneous catalysts was investigated in the linear dimerization of butadiene.
