used in ethylenepolymerization and copolymerization with polar monomers. The Pd and Ni catalysts can achieve high activities as well as highpolymermolecularweights in both ethylenepolymerization and copolymerization with polar monomers. The electron-donating group from the carbonyl side can effectively increase the polymermolecularweights. Utilization of a cyclic backbone structure can increase
Tandem conversion of aldoximes to N‐methylated amides with methanol in presence of a single Ru(II) catalyst is accomplished through the Ru(II)‐mediated rearrangement followed by the reductive N‐methylation. Employing this protocol, several aldoximes were directly transformed to the N‐methylated amidesusing methanol. Kinetic experiments with H218O advocated that the aldoxime is acted as the nucleophile
A supramolecular complex for investigating the thermodynamic properties of intermolecular aromatic stackinginteractions has been developed. The conformation of the complex is locked in a single well-defined conformation by an array of H-bonding interactions that force two aromatic rings on one end of the complex into a stacked geometry. Chemical double-mutant cycles have been used to measure an anthracene-aniline

Provided is a method of manufacturing a bipyridinium compound denoted by general formula (A).
In general formula (A), Ar
1
and Ar
2
each independently denote an optionally substituted (hetero)aryl group, R
3
and R
4
each independently denote a substituent that may form a ring with a pyridine ring to which the substituent substitutes, m3 and m4 each independently denote an integer ranging from 0 to 4, X denotes a halogen atom or RSO
3
, and R denotes an optionally substituted aryl group or alkyl group. The method can manufacture a 4,4′-bipyridinium compound under mild reaction conditions in an integrated manner without separation of intermediates.

The anion complexation properties of a fluorinated alcohol that is isosteric with a simple isophthalamide revealed that the alcohol can complex weakly basic anions with stability constants greater than those of the isophthalamide.
