Novel bis-phosphonate derivatives of carbaboranes, which might be potential boron-delivery agents for boronneutroncapturetherapy, are described. Conceivable synthetic routes which failed to give the desired compounds are discussed, and finally, a highly selective route to the target molecules is reported.
