  A non-greasy skin moisturizing composition is provided which includes as the major component a compound which has the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and each may be H or lower alkyl, X is ##STR2## and n is 2 to 20, one or more preservatives and water, and optionally one or more thickeners, one or more skin soothing agents, such as allantoin and/or dl-panthenol, one or more astringents, and/or one or more colorants.
