2-Substituted-4-trimethylsilylfurans were prepared by treatment of the epoxycarbonyl compounds 3 with LDA or t-BuLi. 3a-j were obtained from the Lewis acid mediated reaction of 2,3-bis(trimethylsilyl)propene with acid chlorides and followed by epoxidation with MCPBA.
