The present invention relates to novel cosmetic compositions, in particular for coloring the skin and/or the hair, comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable support, at least one 4,5-pyrazolinedione. The invention also relates to novel 4,5-pyrazolinediones, to processes for their preparation and to their uses in the cosmetics field.

The invention concerns a composition for dyeing keratin fibres, in particular human keratin fibres such as hair comprising at least one pyrazolin-4,5-dione of formula (I) and at least one aromatic primary amine. Said composition enables R the dyeing of keratin fibres without an oxidising agent in shades which are strong, varied, resistant and less selective than those of prior art. The invention also concerns dyeing methods and devices using said composition.

A simple, efficient, and three-component procedure has been developed for the synthesis of a series of spiropyrazol-3-one derivatives containing dihydroquinazoline moiety by the reaction of 1H-pyrazole-4,5-diones, 2-aminobenzophenones, and ammonium acetate in moderate to good yields. This method provides several advantages such as operational simplicity, shorter reaction time, and higher yields. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by spectroscopic analysis.
