N-arylanthranilamides was developed. Lithium amide promoted coupling of anilines with 2-fluorobenzoic acids or 2-fluorobenzamides lead to the desired compounds in good yield. Both primary and N-substitutedanilines were effective partners for the reaction. In the reaction of 2,3,4-trifluorobenzoic acid with various anilines, selectivity for ortho substitution was observed exclusively.
