multinuclear NMR, IR, and mass spectroscopy. The crystal and molecular structure of I has been determined by an X-ray diffraction study. Individual molecules are linked to form infinite chains through hydrogen bonding. The BC (1.627(3) Å (BCF3) and 1.629(4) Å (BCH2CN)) and BN bond lengths (1.600(3) Å are normal.
