    Improved organophotoreceptor comprises an electrically conductive substrate and a photoconductive element on the electrically conductive substrate, the photoconductive element comprising: (a) a charge transport material having the formula where n is an integer between 2 and 6, inclusive; R 1 and R 2 are, independently, H, halogen, carboxyl, hydroxyl, thiol, cyano, nitro, aldehyde group, ketone group, an ether group, an ester group, a carbonyl group, an alkyl group, an alkaryl group, or an aryl group; X is a linking group having the formula —(CH 2 ) m —, branched or linear, where m is an integer between 0 and 20, inclusive, and one or more of the methylene groups can be optionally replaced by O, S, C═O, O═S═O, urethane, urea, an ester group, a NR 3 group, a CHR 4 group, or a CR 5 R 6 group where R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , and R 6 are, independently, H, an alkyl group, an alkaryl group, a heterocyclic group, or an aryl group; Y comprises a bond, C, N, O, S, a branched or linear —(CH 2 ) p — group where p is an integer between 0 and 10, an aromatic group, a cycloalkyl group, a heterocyclic group, or a NR 7 group where R 7 is hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or aryl group, wherein Y has a structure selected to form n bonds with the corresponding X groups; and Z is a fluorenylidene group; and (b) a charge generating compound.     The present invention is to provide highly solid state emissive fluorophores of the formula 1 and 2 useful for the solid state lighting. The formula 1 and 2 have good solid state emission in blue and green region respectively. The zinc complexes of formula 1A and 2A have yellow and red emission respectively in solid state. The present invention also provide high solid state emissive assay of formula 1 and 2 to convert UV light into visible light by coating the color tunable materials on the 365- nm emitting solid state LED. The present invention further provides carbazole end- capped bipyridine for screening of metal salts with different counterions in solutions. The discrimination of the various metal salts can be monitored by noting the fluorescence change in solution. The zinc salts with different counterions have different emission color in solution. The present invention also develop a new two photon active fluorescent Zn2+ specific probe for detecting Zn2+ in cellular environments. Assay with formula 3 is used as a fluorescent probe for two photon imaging of Zn2+ ions in HeLa cells. The high two photon absorption cross section and fluorescence quantum yield of formula 3 made it as a useful probe for detecting Zn2+ in cellular environment by two photon excited fluorescence imaging.

    A fluorescent probe for the identification of a given metal salt is not known. Herein we present a new fluorescent probe 1 for the identification of different zinc and cadmium salts by exploiting the effect of the charge density of counteranions to perturb the excited state solvatochromic behavior of the probe.
