The present invention provided a norbornene compound with cross-linkable groups and their derivative polymers, wherein said cross-linkable groups were olefin or epoxy groups. Norbornene polymers with cross-linkable side chain and their block copolymers as well as modified derivatives were prepared via living ring-open metathesis polymerization method. The resulting polymers with excellent solubility and optic properties had narrow molecular weight distribution, well-controlled molecular weight, small refraction ration and high transparency. They were also suitable for preparing hybrid materials with high thermal stability and chemical resistance.

An antistatic thermoplastic composition which comprises less than 80% by weight of an ABS graft copolymer, and more than 20% by weight of an epihalohydrin copolymer.
Polymer blend compositions exhibiting good antistatic properties and ductility comprise a styrenic polymer, an epihalohydrin copolymer and an acrylate polymer present in an amount sufficient to effect compatability of the styrenic polymer and the epihalohydrin polymer as compared with a blend of the styrenic polymer and the epihalohydrin copolymer not including the acrylate polymer. In a more specific embodiment the polymer blend compositions comprise from about 40 to about 96 percent by weight of a styrenic polymer, from about 2 to about 50 percent by weight of an epihalohydrin copolymer, and from about 2 to about 50 percent by weight of an acrylate polymer.
Antistatic blends are provided comprising a styrenic polymer, an epihalohydrin copolymer and a polyalkylenelactone. The blends exhibit static dissipative properties and enhanced tensile elongation and static dissipation rates. The blends are useful for making molded articles.
