The conformations of seven -(1-methoxycarbonylethyl)-Δ4-thiazoline-2-thiones with configuration of the chiral rotor have been studied by temperature-dependent NMR and CD spectroscopy, and for four compounds by molecular mechanics calculations. The syn-anti equilibria previously reported have been confirmed, and other conformational processes, involving low energy barriers, have been shown to be operating
