  The invention relates to thiophene ring-substituted a-(al- kylaminopropionyl)-thiophene derivatives having the general formula (I): wherein X is methyl or chlorine, R is alkyl, linear or branched, having 3 to 4 carbon atoms, and the nontoxic addition salts thereof, as well as to a process for preparing these compounds and to pharmaceutical compositions containing these compounds. These compounds are useful for treating depressions.
